Ciril Awarded the UN SDG Champion Label for Sustainability Efforts

We are proud to announce that Ciril has received the prestigious UN SDG Champion label. This label is a significant recognition of our ongoing efforts in sustainability. It follows the previously awarded SDG Pioneer label and is the second-highest certificate issued by the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (Unitar). SDG stands for Sustainable Development Goals, the United Nations' sustainability objectives.

For several years, the employers' organization VOKA has offered the Sustainable Business Charter (VCDO), a program that guides companies in Flanders in defining and achieving their sustainability goals. Participants undergo a strict evaluation process and can later qualify for official Unitar SDG labels from the United Nations. By participating, you commit to taking very concrete actions each year that contribute to the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This not only enhances the development of your organization, employees, partners, and customers but also contributes to a better world. Under the guidance of VOKA Limburg, Ciril has successfully followed this path, and now this effort has been rewarded with the SDG Champion label.

SDG Champion

This afternoon, Ciril had the honor of receiving the highly coveted UN SDG Champion label.

“The new label is a wonderful recognition of the impactful sustainability work we have carried out in recent years under the guidance of VOKA Limburg. It confirms our commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals and underscores our role in developing FutureFit cities. At Ciril, we strongly believe in building cities that are not only environmentally friendly but also socially inclusive and economically viable. By continuously innovating and developing, we increase our positive impact and contribute to a sustainable future for people, the climate, and the environment. We are eager to share our knowledge to encourage other organizations to take steps toward making their activities more sustainable. Together, we can create the cities of tomorrow: green, circular, and inclusive,” says Pieter Vanhout, Managing Director of Ciril.

Additionally, we are also proud of our colleagues at Deholi for obtaining the SDG Pioneer label, which highlights our collective commitment to sustainability.
