Construction of a compact and sustainable new building for the Province of Antwerp. The building more than meets all modern requirements in terms of energy, comfort, accessibility and safety. About 860 people will work in the new building. The building consists of a ground floor and 14 storeys and is almost 58 metres high.
The Provinciehuis in Antwerp was designed by XDGA architects from Brussels and realised by Democo and Denys. The building was inaugurated in 2019.
The new provincial building is thoroughly sustainable. It obtained a passive certificate, the certificate for a BEN-building (near-zero energy) and the BREEAM certificate with an 'excellent' rating.
