Project developer Ciril (Democo Group) developed a new residential area on the old site of the Sint Maarten hospital, consisting of a family of buildings, a new neighborhood park and a new residential street.

The former site of AZ Sint-Maarten is being transformed into a new part of the city where people can live and work. New apartments and houses will be built between the station, the Vesten and the canal. A public park and a residential street - together good for 3,800 m2 of new public space - make this project a reclaimed piece of Mechelen for everyone.

Democo will build 74 apartments and 21 houses on this 10,000m² site, divided over 7 buildings, each with its own character. In addition, a city hotel and office and retail space will also have their own place on the site - all located 500 meters from the historic city center.
