The new Elegant Wonen construction project has reached its highest point, and this called for a celebration. On 21 September, A. Verelst Development (a construction partner of Democo) and Sint-Truiden Mayor Ingrid Kempeneers introduced the maypole at Elegant Wonen.

Planting a maypole is an age-old construction industry tradition that celebrates completion of the highest point of the shell construction. The maypole symbolises prosperity and fertility for the future building with the expectation that it will stand as strong as a tree.

The Elegant Wonen project is made up of apartments and office spaces and will provide accommodation for new families and entrepreneurs from the end of 2024. The completion of the apartments is scheduled for the autumn of 2024, and the business premises will be delivered as shells.

Safety, Health and the Environment have the highest priority at Democo and A. Verelst Development. We are therefore pleased that the Elegant Wonen construction has been underway for 10 months without any industrial accidents.
