Property developers Ciril and Futurn deliver a climate-friendly, tailor-made office building in the Heros Business Park.
HR service group Liantis and entrepreneurs' organization UNIZO Limburg officially opened their new offices on Herkenrodesingel in Hasselt today. "From this beautiful new location, we aim to provide even better support to Limburg's entrepreneurs at every stage of their entrepreneurial journey," they stated. The brand new office building is an environmentally friendly project developed by Ciril and Futurn in collaboration with the architectural firm Mamu Architects.
The Heros Business Park, situated on the former Concentra site, now boasts a new office building. The board and staff of Liantis, UNIZO Limburg, and Bouwunie Limburg, along with Hasselt Mayor Steven Vandeput and numerous guests, raised a toast at the official opening ceremony this evening.
Philip Van Eeckhoute, CEO of Liantis, commented: "From here, we will be able to better support Limburg's entrepreneurs throughout their entire entrepreneurial journey, starting from their self-employment, through hiring employees, developing HR and well-being policies, managing risks, and even into retirement. We provide tailored advice and guidance, as well as training sessions and information seminars. This office is meant to be a vibrant meeting place for entrepreneurs, employers, and their advisors and accountants."
For UNIZO Limburg, the new building represents the crowning achievement of the ambitious renewal and professionalization journey the organization has undertaken in recent years. "It's not just an office; it's an environment where UNIZO's corporate culture is reflected in every detail," said CEO Bart Lodewyckx. "We have catered to the needs of our employees to the fullest. Digitalization, sustainability, and a stimulating working environment are at the core. This is where cross-pollination is encouraged, and employees are motivated to collaborate optimally. Climate-friendly Project
The new building on Herkenrodesingel, designed by the Hasselt architectural firm Mamu Architects, was realized by property developers Ciril and Futurn in collaboration with contractors Democo, Deholi (finishing), AEW (electricity), and Vandenbriele (HVAC/sanitary). Together, they delivered an environmentally friendly project.
"All fossil fuels have been eliminated, and a air/water heat pump system and climate ceilings have been chosen, allowing different rooms, areas, and zones to be cooled and heated independently. Additionally, rainwater from the roof is channeled to an underground rainwater tank of approximately 50,000 liters, where it is filtered and ready for reuse," explained Thibaud Demot from Ciril, the project developer.
Moreover, the office building is easily accessible by public transport and bicycle. There is also an underground parking facility with 60 bicycle spaces and 145 parking spaces. Above ground, there is room for 15 parking spaces and 9 bicycle spaces for visitors.
Heros Business Park
The brand new office building is a valuable addition to the Heros Business Park, which is being developed in phases. At the easternmost part, along the Demer, there is still space for a customized (office) project, with room behind it for new SME units.
"For us, the 5,200 square meter building is the cherry on top," stated Frederik Baert, managing partner at Futurn, the developer. "It completes the impressive gateway to the Heros Business Park, the multifunctional business park we have been shaping along Herkenrodesingel in collaboration with Ciril and Mamu Architects since 2016. Meanwhile, we are preparing for the final phase of the project on the plot flanked by the headquarters of Mediahuis and the Demer," added co-manager Gunther Biddelo.
