The Oude-God site in Mortsel has already seen several changes in recent years. The Stadsterras is the final piece of the developments in the Oude-God area, a stone's throw from Mortsel's commercial centre.

Commissioned by developer Ciril, Democo is building five clusters of buildings with housing, a centre for adult education, commercial spaces and an underground car park around a green, traffic-free square. It is located in the inner area between the new city park, the Mechelsesteenweg and the Edegemsestraat.

The old Sint-Lutgardis school will be preserved and converted into residential units. Both the main building on Mechelsesteenweg in Mortsel and the two wings flanking the playground will be redeveloped into flats, commercial spaces and public spaces with character, comprising 131 residential units, 17 social housing units, a neighbourhood supermarket and a day nursery.
